Jake Paul went to hospital after suffering what he described as a suspected “double broken jaw” in his sixth-round knockout loss to Anthony Joshua.
Following the fight, Paul shared an X-ray on X/Twitter that appeared to show two fractures, confirming the extent of the damage after his defeat to the former two-time heavyweight champion. Joshua initially struggled to break through but turned the fight in the fifth round with two knockdowns before finishing the contest in the sixth, prompting the referee to stop the bout.
Despite being visibly hurt — even spitting blood in the ring — Paul praised Joshua and said he was proud of his effort. He admitted the physical toll of handling Joshua’s weight wore him down, but insisted he gave his personal best and would return after recovery.
Paul later posted online: “Jaw broken. Heart and balls intact. Time to rest, recover and return to cruiserweight,” adding that he plans to heal, move back to his natural division, and pursue a cruiserweight world title.
