Logan Paul has agreed to sell the Pikachu Illustrator — the rarest and most valuable Pokémon card ever made — after purchasing it for $5.3M several years ago.
Created in 1997 as a prize for a CoroCoro Magazine illustration contest, the Pikachu Illustrator was never sold in stores, making it one of the most elusive collectibles in the Pokémon world. Paul set a world record when he acquired the card in a private sale and later wore it during his WrestleMania debut.
More than four years later, the card is set to be auctioned on February 15. The deal was negotiated on Netflix’s King of Collectibles: The Goldin Touch, where auctioneer Ken Goldin offered Paul a share of the entire auction, which could reportedly reach $25M in total sales. Paul secured a $2.5M upfront payment, plus a percentage of the final auction results.
The card will be sold alongside its custom chain — valued at $75,000 — and Paul has said he will personally deliver it to the winning bidder.
