Logan Paul has officially put his legendary $5 million Pikachu Illustrator card up for auction — and the bidding is already surging. The YouTuber and podcaster, known for his passion for Pokémon collectibles, announced that the rare card is now live on Goldin Auctions, calling it “the Mona Lisa of collectibles” and “the most famous card in human history.”

Paul revealed on X that the auction includes not just the PSA 10-graded card, but also the $75,000 custom Pokémon chain he famously wore with it. He said he plans to personally deliver the card to the winning bidder and described the event as “the greatest Pokémon auction of our generation.” The auction closes on February 15, and Paul added that bids had already reached $1.6 million with weeks still to go.

The Pikachu Illustrator card is considered the rarest Pokémon card ever made. In 1998, only 39 copies were awarded to winners of a Pokémon illustration contest, personally presented by Pikachu’s original designer, Atsuko Nishida.

Paul bought the card in Dubai in 2021 for a record-setting $5.3 million, earning a Guinness World Record for the most expensive Pokémon card sold in a private transaction. He later made headlines by wearing it as a necklace at WrestleMania 38 in 2022.

Speaking about the purchase, Paul said it was the most he had ever spent on a physical item, adding that holding such a rare piece felt completely different from seeing it online. He has also praised Pokémon cards as an investment, claiming the category has outperformed the stock market by more than 3,000% over the past 20 years.

Now, with the card back on the market, collectors around the world are watching closely to see just how high the bidding will climb.
