Romania is planning a €1 billion Dracula-themed park near Bucharest, aiming to turn the country into a major global entertainment hub. Branded as a “multi-sensory experience” rooted in Romanian mythology, Dracula Land will blend a physical theme park with a digital universe and metaverse elements.
Often called the “Transylvanian Disneyland,” the project spans more than 780,000 square metres and will feature six themed zones with around 40 attractions, plus a water park, thermal spa, shopping district, and tech hub. Highlights include Dracula’s Castle with a flagship rollercoaster, themed areas inspired by Transylvania, Victorian London, New Orleans, and family-friendly supernatural worlds.
Designed by former Europa-Park creative director Chris Lange, the park will also include three themed hotels with about 1,200 rooms. Developers expect up to three million visitors annually, around 5,000 jobs, and an economic impact of €5 billion over a decade, with a possible first phase opening in 2027.
